Michaela was a great partner in significantly improving our overall developer experience, especially with regards to the completeness and usability of our documentation. She was an effective communicator in discussing vision and needs both with internal leadership and with external customers. Her framework of addressing both conceptual users (what could be done) versus procedural users (how do I do a specific thing) was very helpful in improving our document navigation and in persona targeting. Michaela is not only a joy to work with but also a fantastic teammate. When Michaela joined the team as a Senior Technical Writer, she wasted no time learning as much as she could to begin contributing. As a result, she contributed documentation for one of the newer, high profile feature teams, and within weeks of her first day, jumped into learning more about one of our more technical documentation tools. Always willing to help and take on any project, she not only said yes to updating technical API documentation and learning the tool for it, but she also became the owner of that project! Her attention to detail and desire to put forth a quality product was especially evident as she worked on the API documentation, always ensuring that the user experience would, and should, be a good one. Michaela also has a cyber security background and is always happy to share her knowledge about that with her team and those around her. In fact, she quickly connected with the cyber security team at Blackbaud and participated in Cyber Security Aware Month events within a month of joining the company! Even if you think you know all there is to know on that subject, Michaela will teach you something new in one of the most personable ways. I can honestly not say enough good things about Michaela. She's talented, hard-working, great at giving and receiving feedback, and just an overall joy to be around. She truly cares about her work and makes those around her great. It's been my pleasure to manage Michaela for the past 8+ months. During that time, Michaela showed great flexibility and a great attitude as she worked across many projects to create, rearchitect, and update documentation. Well, where do I start? We hired Michaela as a Senior Technical Writer at Blackbaud and she hit the ground running and hasn't looked back. Her tenacity and desire to learn new products and put huge efforts into her work is not lost on those around her. Her work ethic and thirst for knowledge is very apparent, and it shows in her daily tasks and accomplishments.
Her editing, writing, collaboration, and knowledge in the cyber security sector has proven so useful in her work at Blackbaud and she is a true asset to the team. She has worked on multiple teams juggling different projects such as helping launch a huge Blackbaud product from its conception, creating API and UX documentation, and working with multiple developers to offer next-level documentation.
Michaela is so much fun to work with. Her outgoing personality and ability to make people actually enjoy going into work is what you want in a coworker.
